USER GUIDE

Mod settings and features overview for mission makers

This section pertains to an essential user guide on how to use many of our sub-systems. There is also a description of our custom video settings and a short description of UI images.

Please note that some of these attributes will need saving to the mission to take effect due to how ARMA handles mission saving to an SQM.

Below is an image showing how our Overall Map Settings are integrating into the ARMA General Attributes. This section controls the main settings for all of our sub-systems and will affect the entire terrain.
Each Attribute will describe the current function of each Attribute, and please note that these can be used flexibly and are a work in progress

Lock Time to Night

This toggle enables a true or false statement if the player or server owner wants to lock the terrain to be permanently at night. For example, this Attribute will disregard the Time Attributes and the sever locks the time to around midnight.

View Distance

This toggle enables view distance limitation to be applied, needs to be checked for the view distance you set via viewDistance slider to be considered.

Set Player View Distance Slider

This slider enabled the mission maker or server owner to set a view distance that overwrites the player’s view distance; because ARMA is limited to a minimum of 500m. Recommended value is 180m.

Dynamic View Distance

To improve performance, in case is needed, enable this option and the view distance will be dynamically changed based on the area the player is in.

Enable Overall Common SFX

This toggle enables a true or false statement if you want the Overall Common Special Effects to enable or disabled when launching the mission or server.

Percentage Slider for Overall Common SFX

This percentage slider changes the probability of the Overall Special Effects for the terrain allowing only 0 – 100 per cent of all the special effect objects on the terrain to be enabled or disabled regardless of the type of object. This Attribute is also tied to the multiplier of individual object types to tweak the probability of each particular effect accordingly.

Enable Overall Light SFX

This toggle enables a true or false statement if you would like the Overall Light Special Effects to enable or disabled when launching the mission or server.

Percentage Bar for Overall Light SFX

This percentage slider changes the probability of the light special effects for the terrain allowing only 0 – 100 per cent of all the light special effect objects on the terrain to be enabled or disabled regardless of the type of light. This Attribute is also tied to the multiplier of individual light types to tweak the probability of each particular effect accordingly.

Overall Terrain Door State Dropdown

This Attribute controls a dropdown menu where the player or server owner can set the properties of all the doors across the terrain. Below is a list of the options available:

• Open
• Closed
• Locked
• Random ( Open / Closed )
• Random ( Open / Closed / Locked )

Enable Out of Bounds Information Notice

This toggle enables a true or false statement if the player or server owner wants a function to detect if a player enters outside the terrain via an out of bounds texture. This attribute function will change, but it displays a small notice on the player’s screen when they step on an out of bounds texture.

Enable Random Earthquakes ( SFX )

This toggle enables a true or false statement if the player or server owner wants a function to allow Random Ambient Earthquakes to execute around the terrain. This effect is to give the feeling of insecurity within the facility.

Enable Ambient Player Dust ( SFX )

This toggle enables a true or false statement if the player or server owner wants to add small ambient dust particles drifting around the player as they explore the underground facility.

While editing in Arma if you have occluders in the way you can hide them pressing the button highlited in the below image.

Below are the attributes added to each special effect object or light type, each one of which is custom to each object.

Enable Object / Light SFX

This toggle enables a true or false statement if you will like to allow the overall common special effects to enable or disabled when launching the mission or server.

Percentage Slider for Object / Light Common SFX

This percentage slider changes the probability of the individual object / light type for the terrain allowing a 0 – 100 per cent chance for this object/light to be enabled. This Attribute is also a multiplier of the overall object / light percentage.

This setting shows the information we have added to the UI images, enabling the players to identify the different objects they may encounter and what attributes and settings they have enabled.

Note the slider situated in top menu which allows you to tweak the size of the object’s preview image while browsing the assets.
